Four Malayalam films selected for Indian Panorama 2015
Four Malayalam films has been selected for Indian Panorama section this year for 46th International Film Festival of India. Lukka Chuppi, Ain, Ottal, Valiya Chirakulla Pakshikal are the selected film. The festival will start on November 20 at Goa Ottal and Ain already got appreciation in 62nd National film awards. Valiya Chirakulla Pakshikal was directed by Dr. Biju will hit the theatre in the November this year.
Lukka Chuppi was directed by Bash Mohammed and written by Gafoor Arackal was a commercial movie which did not fare well in Box office. The film tells the story of friends who meet after a long gap of 14 years. The films brings a nostalgic feelings about college life and it shows how the circumstances changed each and every one of them. It was a good film which was not appreciated by audiences. Ain, directed by Siddarth Siva, already won many accolades from different film festivals across the globe. It tells the story of a lazy person (Maanu) who struggles to meet the ends because of his wrong attitude. Maanu later find the purpose of the life and became more responsible with the support of Saira. It won National award for best Malayalam film in 62nd National Film Awards.
Ottal was directed by seasoned director Jayaraj, tells the story of a Kuttappayi and his strong bonds with both his grandmother and Nature. It won National award for best film in the category of Environment Conservation and Preservation. It was inspired from a Russian short story Vanka. The films also tells about the child labour. Valiya Chirakulla Pakshikal tells the story of severe consequences of Pesticide usage in the environment. It is based on real life incidents happened in Kerala due to Endo sulfan usage in Kasargod. It features Kunchacko Boban, Nedumudi Venu and Suraj Venjaranmoodu in lead roles.
