Real Life Teachers in Malayalam Cinema

Most of our actors are well educated and some of them are lecturers too. Here is the list of Malayalam actors who are teachers in real life.

Jagadish

As everyone knows Malayalam actor Jagadish is highly educated and a college professor. He is a postgraduate in commerce from Mar Ivanios College, Trivandrum with Kerala University first rank. Later he became a commerce lecturer at M.G. College in Thiruvananthapuram. He made his debut as an actor through the film My Dear Kuttichathan in 1984.

Sudheer Karamana

Sudheer Karamana, son of yesteryear actor Karamana Janardanan Nair, is a school principal. He is a graduate in Geography from the Trivandrum University College and received a B.Ed. from the Government College of Teacher Education. He worked as a teacher at Christ Nagar School, Thiruvananthapuram and M.E.S Indian School, Qatar. Later in 1998, he returned to Thiruvananthapuram to join at GHSS Venganoor as a teacher. In 2003, he became the principal there. He has been the Principal of that school for the last 13 years.

Sukumaran

Yesteryear actor Sukumaran had worked as a college lecturer before entering into the cinema field. He is a postgraduate in English from University College, Thiruvananthapuram with a gold medal. Then he had worked as a college lecturer for three years at Government College Kasaragod and Scott Christian College, Nagercoil. He debuted as an actor through the film Nirmalyam, directed by M. T. Vasudevan Nair.

Sathyan

Legendary Malayalam actor Sathyan had worked as a schoolteacher. He had passed the Vidwan exam, which is equivalent to Master of Arts, and then he joined in Saint Joseph's School, Trivandrum as a teacher. Sathyan had also worked as a Police Inspector, soldier and clerk too. He made his acting debut through the movie Athmasakhi.

Narendra Prasad

Yesteryear actor Narendra Prasad had started his career as a college teacher. He is a postgraduate in English Language and Literature from University of Kerala. After completing his post-graduation, he joined Bishop Moore College, Mavelikkara as lecturer in English. Then he had worked as lecturer at Government Victoria College, Palakkad, and Govt. Arts College, Trivandrum, and as Professor in University College, Thiruvananthapuram.

Madhu

Veteran actor Madhu had started his career as a college lecturer. He pursued Bachelor’s degree in Hindi from University College, Thiruvananthapuram and post-graduation from Banaras Hindu University. Then he had worked as a Hindi lecturer in South Travancore Hindu College, Nagercoil. He made his acting debut through the film Ninamaninja Kalpadukal directed by N. N. Pisharody.

Devayani

Yesteryear actress Devayani, is now working as a school teacher. Currently, she is teaching at Church Park School at Anna Salai in Chennai for fourth standard students. Devayani She has appeared in Malayalam movies such as Balettan and Sundara Purushan.

Sajitha Madathil

Award winning actress Sajitha Madathil is also a college lecturer. She is a lecturer cum theatre expert at the National Institute of Integrated learning and management, New Delhi. She appeared in films such as Shutter, Akam and Varsham.
