Pathemari says the Life of Gulf Malayalees from 60's

Malayalam movie Pathemari narrates the story of a Gulf Malayalee and the unseen life of people in Gulf countries. Salim Ahmed who directed the movie Kunjananthante Kada, is back again with a Mammootty film. Salim has written the script for Pathemari.

Sreenivasan, Balachandra Menon, Salim Kumar, Joy Mathew, Yavanika Gopalakrishnan, Dinesh Prabhakar, Pashanam Shaji, Siddique, Midhun Ramesh, Kalabhavan Haneef, Arun, Parvathy Menon, Anju Aravind, Anu Joseph, Jennifer, Viji Chandrashekaran, Shaheen Siddique and Jewel Mary play interesting roles in the movie.

Shaheen Siddique is the son of famous actor siddique, and interesting father and son gets the oppurtunity to share screen together in this film. Nyla Usha who debuted in Salim Ahmed's Kunjananthante Kada, will appear in guest role, says reports.

In 60's people used to travel to Gulf, in search of jobs, in Pathemari (Fat Boat, wooden ships made in Beypore tp export goods to Arab countries). These boats are not licenced and there is no safety of life. Pallikkal Narayanan (Mammootty) is such a bold person who went to Gulf by Pathemari at a young age for his family.

Pathemari is all about the life of Narayanan, 50 years of his difficulties and changes that happend to his family and society. The movie passes through four stages and depicts historical aspects which involves life and difficulties of Gulf Malayalees from 60's.

Cinematography is by Madhu Ambat. Music is composed by Bijibal and lyrics by Rafeeq Ahamed. Oscar award winner Rasool Pookutty has done the sound mixing and designing for th movie. Hariharan, Shahabaz Aman and Jyotsna Radhakrishnan has sung the beautiful songs of Pathemari. Pathemari will be in theaters from September 24th, 2015.
