Malayalam Hit Movies of 2015
Premam directed by Alphonse Puthren, has broken all the records of Bangalore Days and Drishyam, in just seven days . The movie starring Nivin Pauly, Sai Pallavi, Madonna Sebastian, Anupama Parameswaran, Krishna Shankar and Shabareesh Varma in lead roles. The movie has created a sensation in Kerala and is running successfully. The movie narrated the story of a young man George David and his love in three stages of life.
2. ENNU NINTE MOIDEEN
Ennu Ninte Moideen has conquered the hearts of all Malayalees within a short span of time. The true story of Kanchanamala and Moideen was made as a movie by debutant director R.S Vimal. The success of the film is the long 7 years hardship of Vimal. The movie featured Prithviraj and Parvathy in lead roles. The movie was made with an approximate budget of Rs 12 crore. Ennu Ninte Moideen has a box office collection of Rs 20.15 crore in 20 days. The movie is another blockbuster after the release of the movie 'Premam'. Story, screenplay and casting were excellent. Ennu Ninte Moideen have created a new outlook for love.
3. Amar Akbar Anthony
Amar Akbar Anthony is a comedy entertainment movie, which also gave importance in giving awareness to the youngsters. The movie has become one of the second highest 20 crore grossing movie after Premam. The movie has already become the third biggest grosser of 2015. Amar Akbar Anthony, directed by Nadirshah gave a good message to youngsters for not responding to social issues. Prithviraj, Indrajith and Jayasurya appeared in title roles and they played a full comedy roles after a long time.

4. ORU VADAKKAN SELFIE

Oru Vadakkan Selfie is a comedy thriller released on March 27th, 2015. The movie directed by Prajith Karanavar was a blockbuster in Kerala. The movie starring Nivin Pauly, Aju Varghese, Vineeth Sreenivasan and Manjima Mohan on lead role, grossed 17 crore so far and is still running successfully in theaters even after two months. The movie portrayed the story of a young man who aspired to become a film director after completing B.Tech and his struggles.
5. ENNUM EPPOZHUM
Ennum Eppozhum is a family entertainer by Sathyan Anthikad. The movie starring Mohanlal, Manju Warrier, Lena and Innocent in lead roles was released on March 27th, 2015. The movie is still running magnificently in theaters. The movie says the story about a magazine reporter and his struggles to get news. He apparently meets an advocate as a part of his job and the story revolves around them. The movie was super hit and grossed 10.50 crore at box office so far.
6. BHASKAR THE RASCAL
Bhaskar the Rascal directed by Siddique was a complete entertainer. The movie grossed well at box office and became a blockbuster. The movie starring Megastar Mammootty, Nayanthara, Janardhanan, Master Sanoop Santhosh, Baby Anikha and Isha Talwar in lead roles hit the theater on April 15th, 2015. The movie was all about Bhaskar, his son and they get to meet a lady and her daughter. The movie was highly entertaining and grossed over 16 crore.
Mohanlal-Ranjith combo's much awaited film Loham could not make waves in Boxoffice like Premam or Ennu Ninte moideen. Due to high expectation it attracted many audience to theatres and broken Kerala Boxoffice record for first day collection. It has collected around 12.30 crores (approx) in its total run. The film was made with a budge of 7 Crores, thus makes the film a hit film of this year.

Kunjiramayanam was a surprise hit of this year. It tasted success by competing movies of Malayalam superstars Mohanlal and Mammootty. As 'Utopiyayile Rajavu' and Loham did not meet the expectation of the Malayalam audiences, people prefered to watch this comedy movie of debutant director Basil Joseph. It collected just over 10 Crores in it total run. The budget of the film was 3.30 crores.
Year End Review : Best Malayalam actor of 2015
Pathemari was a classic film which tells the story of a Gulf Malayali. The movie got good review and widely accepted by audiences. It went on to collect around 10 Crores on it final run. Mammootty's performance in this film as Pallickal Narayanan was outstanding. It was able to collect a good amount from oversease countries as well. Though the film was an off beat one, its satellite rights was bagged by Surya TV for a whopping 7 Crores.
Due to much hype before its release Charlie opened really well in Boxoffice. It collected 2.06 Crores on its opening day itself. It has quite a steady run after it. After one week it collected 9.70 Crore from boxoffice, thus making the film already a hit. Young generation prefered this film during the Christmas. It expected to be a superhit if it continues to run atleast 50 days in theatres.

11. Two Countries
Janapriyanayakan ended 2015 with a bang. His film Two Countries was making laughing riot in theatres. Though it had a strong competition for Dulquer Salman's film Charlie, it opened really well because of family audiences. It collected over 10 Crores in first week itself. It has a steady run in theatres since the release on 26-December-2015

12. Su Su Sudhi Vathmeekam
Jayasurya starrer Su Su Sudhi Vathmeekam had an average opening in Boxoffice. But due to WOM it has picked well later. It was able to collect around 6.50 Crores after 3 weeks of run. The movie tells the story of a stammerer who has a positive attitude towards his life. The film was made of a low budget and collected most of it from theatre itself.
Prithviraj delivered three hit movies on the second half of this year. Soon after its release Anarkali got positive response from audience and critics. It around 7.75 Crore in the first two weeks itself. After 24 days of collection it has collected from box office.
