Kamal Hassan, a legendary Indian actor, has commenced his acting career as a child. He then grew up into a genius actor who did many super hit movies. He not only proved his mastery in acting but also in screenwriting, direction, production, playback singing, choreography and lyricist.

Even though he was successful in film industry his family life was not much. He first married Classical Dancer Vani Ganapathi in the year 1978 and after the parting he had a second marriage with Sarika Haasan in 1998, in which he has two daughters Shruti Haasan and Akshara Haasan. He had broken up with Sarika in 2004.

His debut movie as a child artist was Kalathur Kannamma in the year 1959. His top movies include Apoorva Raagangal(1975), Indian(1996), Moondram Pirai(1982), Thevar Magan(1992), Awai Shanmughi(1996), Sagar Sangamam(1983), Dasavathaaram (2008) etc. His role in Awai Shanmughi as a female character was appreciated by the world. Kamal Hassan was first to act in Sankar’s Endhiran (Robot) at its planning, unfortunately the movie got on hold and finally the superstar Rajini Kanth, to whom the story was first told, did the lead.

Marudhanayagam, a Kamal Hassan movie, which was started in 2007, is now expected to launch in the year 2015. The 60- year old expects a prominent distribution from west, as the movie is to release in English, French and Tamil, which leads to a delay.

The veteran actor actually learned “mridangam” for the movie Apoorva Raagangal(1975) which he played the lead role of a teenager, falling in love with an elder woman.
